About the Congress
General Overview:
The International Congress on Intestinal Microbiome will be held under the theme
“The Intestinal Microbiome: Implications in Oncology and Nutrition”, from April 9 to 11, 2026, in Rabat.
The congress will bring together national and international experts to discuss the critical role of the intestinal microbiome in precision medicine, with a particular focus on oncology and nutrition.
Scientific Objectives:
- To bring together renowned experts to exchange knowledge and expertise in precision medicine related to the intestinal microbiome
- To position Morocco as an active contributor in microbiome research through oral communications and poster presentations.
- To strengthen microbiome research in Morocco, particularly in the fields of oncology and nutrition

Workshop Details
Workshop Overview
Sequencing is a widely used technique in microbiome research, leading to metagenomics, which allows not only the identification of microbial composition but also the understanding of functional mechanisms.
PacBio is an emerging long-read sequencing platform in metagenomics, recognized for its high efficiency.
This workshop offers participants a comprehensive hands-on training on microbiome sequencing using the PacBio platform, followed by sequence processing and bioinformatics analysis.
